The laser particle analyzer Lasca-1K is designed for measuring of despersion parameters of emulsions, suspensions and powder like materials, and a number of life-science applications using low-angle light scattering method. The analyzer may be used for: - determination of dispersion parameters (particle size distribution) of emilsions, suspensions and powders;
- carrying out cytological studies.
| principle of operation | |  |
| | The cell with suspension (that is continuously stirred) is radiated with a laser beam. The laser radiation dispersed by the microparticles of the sample is registred at different angles with multielement detector. The size distribution of the particles is calculated from the measured dependency of the intensity of the scattered light from the angle of scattering. | features and benefits | | |
| The analyser is manufactured in two modifications: - Lasca-1K analyzer for use with external computer (basic modification);
- Lasca-1K with built-in computer.
The analyzer measures size particle distribution in the range 1,0 – 50 μm. The size of the particles in the range is 0,5 – 100 μm. The instrument provides the following advantages to the user: - Dynamic range that allows to analyse kinetic properties od dispersive systems, and develop and improve the methods of preparation of powders of various origin;
- The additional photodetectors at large angles of scattering sallows to determine volume of dispersive phase in dense suspensions.
| areas of application | |  |
| Analysis of natural materials (soil, bottom sediments): - Geology, hydrology, oceanology: granulometricanalysis of soil, sediments, etc.
Process control: - Metallurgy, construction materials, paints, cement insdustry, oil and gas industry: granulimetric analysis of abrasive materials, latex dispersions, oil emulsions, cements, powders, ore etc.
Research: - Kinetic research of stability of emulsions and colloid systems.
